ShibaSwap is the decentralized exchange (DEX) for the Shiba Inu ecosystem, allowing users to swap tokens, provide liquidity (Dig), and stake assets (Bury) to earn rewards like
BONE. Burying SHIB, LEASH, or BONE locks tokens for passive income (primarily in BONE), while Digging adds liquidity to pools for trading fees and additional yields.
What is ShibaSwap? The official DEX for SHIB, BONE, LEASH, and ecosystem tokens, built on Ethereum (with some Shibarium integrations).
Bury (Staking): Lock SHIB → get xSHIB, LEASH → xLEASH, BONE → tBONE/xBONE; earn BONE rewards (some locked for 6 months).
Dig (Liquidity Provision): Add token pairs to pools (e.g., SHIB/ETH) to receive LP tokens (SSLP), then stake them for BONE via Woof or similar features.
Key Rewards: Primarily BONE (governance token); note that new BONE minting stopped in 2023, so rewards draw from existing pools.
Level Note (Intermediate): Assumes you have a wallet (e.g., MetaMask), understand gas fees, impermanent loss risks, and basic DeFi concepts like approvals.
Current (2026): Bury remains on Ethereum; check Shibarium for validator staking alternatives.

ShibaSwap evolved from a simple swap platform to a full-fledged decentralized finance hub. By offering staking (bury) and liquidity mining (dig), it allows users to participate in passive income generation within the ecosystem. However, as with any DeFi platform, users should be aware of potential risks such as impermanent loss in liquidity pools and the impact of gas fees.
In this guide, we will walk you through how to use ShibaSwap effectively, including how to stake SHIB tokens (bury), provide liquidity (dig), and maximize rewards through these features.
ShibaSwap utilizes terms like Dig (providing liquidity to pools) and Bury (staking tokens for rewards) to make DeFi activities accessible. It provides multiple avenues for earning SHIB, BONE, and LEASH tokens by engaging in different activities within the platform.
Swap: Directly trade SHIB, LEASH, BONE, and other supported tokens.
Dig: Add liquidity to pools and earn rewards such as BONE by staking LP tokens.
Bury: Stake SHIB, LEASH, or BONE to earn BONE rewards and participate in governance.
Woof: A feature that used to allow staking LP tokens for BONE; now integrated into Dig and Bury flows.
It operates primarily on Ethereum, with some cross-chain support to Shibarium for faster and cheaper transactions.
BONE minting was halted in 2023, meaning rewards are now derived from existing token emissions and fees collected from ecosystem activities.
Different features of Shiba Swap.
Before you can start staking or providing liquidity, you need to set up and connect your wallet to ShibaSwap.
Set Up a Wallet: Use MetaMask, WalletConnect, or another Ethereum-compatible wallet. Fund your wallet with ETH for gas fees and your preferred tokens (SHIB, LEASH, BONE).
Connect to ShibaSwap: Visit
shibaswap.com → Click “
Connect Wallet” (top right) and approve the connection in your wallet.
Switch Networks: Make sure you’re connected to the Ethereum Mainnet if you’re staking (Bury). For ShibaSwap’s Shibarium integration, you can use ShibaSwap with Shibarium’s network when available.
Handle Approvals: The first time you interact with ShibaSwap, you’ll need to approve token spends (gas fee). Approve the necessary permissions for staking or liquidity provision.
Bury is ShibaSwap’s staking feature, allowing users to lock up their SHIB, LEASH, or BONE tokens in exchange for XSHIB, XLEASH, or tBONE/xBONE tokens, respectively. This provides passive income in the form of BONE rewards.
Select the token you want to stake: SHIB, LEASH, or BONE.
Enter the amount of tokens you wish to stake, and approve the transaction (gas fee).
Confirm the staking transaction.
Once staked, you’ll receive XSHIB, XLEASH, or tBONE/xBONE as proof of your stake.
Rewards will accumulate over time, and you can claim them periodically via the dashboard. Some rewards may be locked for 6 months.
Bury SHIB: Earn BONE as rewards, and potentially gain additional Shiba Inu ecosystem perks. The XSHIB represents both your staked SHIB and any earned rewards.
Bury LEASH: A higher-scarcity token, staking LEASH gives you XLEASH and earns BONE rewards, with the potential for higher returns.
Bury BONE: The governance token of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, tBONE/xBONE represents your staked BONE and provides additional yield rewards from the platform. Often offers the highest APY.
Select or create a pair (e.g., SHIB/ETH, SHIB/BONE).
Enter the amounts (50/50 value ratio) for each token and approve the transaction.
Once you confirm, you will receive SSLP (ShibaSwap LP) tokens representing your share of the pool.
To earn extra rewards, stake SSLP tokens in the relevant pools for BONE rewards.
Keep track of impermanent loss: If token prices in the pool diverge significantly, your pool value may decrease compared to simply holding the tokens.
Concentrated Liquidity: If you're using v2 pools, consider using concentrated liquidity for better efficiency in the pool.
Check APY: Before adding liquidity, check the Annual Percentage Yield (APY) to understand potential returns.
Withdraw: When you want to exit the pool, withdraw your liquidity to reclaim your tokens plus any earned trading fees.
While ShibaSwap offers a powerful platform for earning rewards, it's important to understand the associated risks and best practices.
Impermanent Loss: This occurs in liquidity pools when the prices of tokens diverge. You can mitigate this risk by using stable pairs (e.g., SHIB/USDT) or by regularly monitoring the pool.
Gas Fees: Transactions on Ethereum can be costly, especially during periods of high network congestion. Consider using ShibaSwap during low-gas times or batching your actions to save on fees.
Smart Contract Risks: While ShibaSwap has been audited, there’s always a risk in DeFi. Always ensure you’re interacting with official Shiba Inu resources.
Reward Fluctuations: BONE rewards may change as the ecosystem evolves, especially since BONE minting was halted in 2023.
Taxes & Tracking: Staking rewards are typically taxable; use tools to track your earnings and manage your tax obligations.
Alternatives: Consider exploring Shibarium staking through validators for lower fees and different staking options.
ShibaSwap is the DEX for the Shiba Inu ecosystem, enabling swaps, liquidity provision (Dig), and staking (Bury) to earn rewards like BONE.
Bury locks SHIB, LEASH, or BONE in ShibaSwap smart contracts, allowing users to earn BONE rewards. Users receive xSHIB, xLEASH, or tBONE/xBONE to represent their staked position.
ShibaSwap offers intermediate DeFi users the opportunity to earn rewards through staking (bury SHIB) and liquidity mining (dig SHIB). By burying SHIB, LEASH, or BONE, users can earn BONE rewards and participate in ecosystem governance, while digging SHIB provides the chance to earn fees and additional rewards by providing liquidity to ShibaSwap pools.
Engage in ShibaSwap carefully, keep track of the risks such as impermanent loss and gas fees, and follow best practices for managing your assets securely. As Shiba Inu’s ecosystem evolves, ShibaSwap continues to be a powerful tool for growing your assets while supporting the community.
