According to CoinDesk, BitGo Korea has obtained Virtual Asset Service Provider registration from the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit, allowing it to provide virtual asset custody and transfer services to institutional and corporate clients. BitGo said it is the first global digital asset company to secure the registration by establishing a new local entity rather than entering the market through an acquisition. The entity has established localized security, anti-money laundering, and internal control frameworks. Hana Financial Group and SK Telecom are strategic shareholders. BitGo shares rose 16% on Wednesday as the broader crypto market rallied.
According to CoinDesk, social media platform X is discussing the use of stablecoins such as USDC to pay royalties or commissions to creators and content providers, with the talks still ongoing. X is reforming its creator compensation model by phasing out its long-running revenue-sharing program and introducing a new “Original Content Rewards” system. The program will focus on rewarding original ideas, expertise, reporting, creativity, and commentary. If adopted, stablecoin payments could reduce the cost of small cross-border payments to global creators and shorten settlement times across different markets.
According to The Block, the U.S. Treasury’s decision to raise the maximum size of certain long-term Treasury buyback operations from $2 billion to at least $4 billion, combined with the SEC’s proposed crypto asset offering exemptions, helped drive a broader market rebound. Bitcoin surpassed $69,000 for the first time in two months, while Ethereum gained 10% and moved above $2,000 for the first time since May. SOL, XRP, and other major assets rose more than 5% over 24 hours. The sharp market movement also triggered nearly $2 billion in liquidations and lifted several crypto-related stocks.
According to The Block, Ondo Finance Head of Portfolio Management John Hoffman said asset tokenization is following a development path similar to that of early ETFs, progressing from questions about technical viability toward broader market adoption. He believes tokenization is repeating the process through which new financial technologies gradually transform traditional market infrastructure. Ondo began offering tokenized U.S. Treasury products after launching OUSG in early 2023. Its U.S. Treasury products currently hold approximately $2 billion in total value locked and primarily serve institutional investors seeking exposure to short-term U.S. government debt.
According to Decrypt, CME Group Chairman Terry Duffy and Kalshi co-founder Luana Lopes Lara publicly clashed during a CFTC roundtable over regulatory standards and manipulation risks in prediction markets. Duffy questioned whether prediction markets face the same regulatory scrutiny as established exchanges and criticized some event contracts. Lara responded that traditional markets also carry risks and that regulators are responsible for identifying and addressing them. The exchange occurred amid an ongoing dispute between federal agencies and U.S. states over whether event contracts should be treated as federally regulated derivatives or gambling products governed by state law.
According to a post on X by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, the United States should accelerate the development of asset-tokenization regulations. Coinbase has already launched tokenized stock products outside the United States, while the SEC and Chair Paul Atkins are advancing the relevant framework through this week’s Reg Crypto proposal and the Innovation Exemption expected to be announced soon. Armstrong also urged the Senate to pass the Clarity Act in the fall, establishing clear crypto asset regulatory boundaries through legislation and providing more durable rules for tokenized securities and digital asset markets.
According to CoinDesk, Franklin Templeton is preparing to introduce tokenized assets into traditional investment funds. Subject to approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the firm’s digital-native products would become eligible for use in ETFs and mutual funds for the first time. Based on a public SEC letter and information disclosed by company executives, Franklin Templeton plans to allow its tokenized money market fund to serve as either a portfolio holding or collateral for traditional funds. If approved, tokenized fund shares would become more deeply integrated into traditional asset management and gain broader utility in liquidity management and collateral applications.
According to Bloomberg, Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, may participate in prediction market platform Polymarket’s next funding round. ICE CEO Jeff Sprecher said the company remains open to participating if its involvement could help complete the financing, adding that ICE’s endorsement could support the deal. ICE’s previous investment in Polymarket was viewed as a significant attempt by a traditional exchange operator to enter emerging market infrastructure. Further investment could strengthen the connection between prediction markets and mainstream finance, although the sector continues to face regulatory scrutiny.

Users should remain alert to impersonation scams involving AI-generated deepfakes. Attackers may create fraudulent videos, voice recordings, or social media accounts impersonating project founders, platform support agents, or well-known investors. They may then promote supposed insider investment opportunities, claim that an account is at risk, or advertise limited-time airdrops to induce users to transfer funds or connect their wallets. Chainalysis data indicate that AI-enabled scams can be 4.5 times more profitable than conventional scams, while impersonation scams are growing rapidly. Users should never rely solely on video or voice communication to verify someone’s identity. Always conduct a second verification through official websites, verified accounts, and independent contact methods. Any request for a seed phrase, private key, remote-control access, or transfer to a designated address should be rejected.
