Ocumetics Advances First-in-Human Study with Positive Six-Month Results, Next-Generation Lens Development

Ocumetics Technology Corp., a developer of advanced vision restoration technologies, has announced significant progress in its clinical development program, including positive six-month results from its First-in-Human (FIH) study that support advancement to Group Two surgeries. The company also completed the design of its next-generation accommodating intraocular lens, known as the Ocumetics Lens, which incorporates advancements in manufacturability, surgical performance, and scalability.

The positive six-month follow-up data from Group One patients demonstrated encouraging safety and performance outcomes, with patients reporting meaningful improvements in vision and quality of life. Notably, one patient previously considered legally blind is now qualified to drive. These outcomes have provided the foundation for Ocumetics to proceed to the second group of its FIH study, which remains on track for the third quarter of 2026 in Mexico City under Principal Investigator Dr. Raphael Vasquez.

Manufacturing of the redesigned Ocumetics Lens has commenced with the company’s German partner, Amiplant GmbH. The new lens features a one-piece design, eliminating internal interface materials such as air, water, or oil, and is expected to improve manufacturing consistency and surgical handling. The company has also completed all regulatory requirements necessary to proceed to Group Two patient enrollment.

To fund the next phase of clinical development and accelerate commercialization activities, Ocumetics has launched a financing initiative. Proceeds are expected to support completion of Group Two surgeries, finalize manufacturing and quality verification, advance regulatory programs, and continue strategic partnership discussions. Management has engaged with four of the world’s seven largest ophthalmic companies, with follow-up discussions tentatively scheduled for early Q4 2026 after Group Two one-month patient results become available.
