Jimmy Kimmel pinpoints 'the only question we need to ask' about 'blacked out' Epstein docs

Jimmy Kimmel has questioned the Department of Justice and its choice to redact certain names and email addresses from Jeffrey Epstein's files.

In the opening monologue of his talk show, Kimmel asked what reason there was for redacting information about who sent and received emails relating to Epstein's parties. Kimmel said, "Look at the emails, you can see how transparent they are. Look at this email, it says, 'Thank you for a fun night... Your littlest girl was a little naughty.' oh, it's blacked out.

"This one says, 'I can't take it anymore! I just saw the most beautiful little girl on Madison with long soft blonde hair.' Oh that name- both names are completely blacked out. Why are those names blacked out? That's really the only question we need to ask.

"Maybe there's a good reason, I don't know. I get that people, probably a lot of people, are in there who didn't do anything criminal, but why are the names on those emails blacked out? Is it possible that Kash Patel doesn't know what the word transparency means? Maybe he's confusing it with opaque?"

Despite the ongoing release of the Epstein files, Stephen Miller's wife, podcaster Katie Miller, has said the release is a "Democrat hoax."

"The Epstein files is a Democrat hoax perpetuated on the American people," she wrote. "Why didn’t Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman, or Bill Gates push for Epstein’s arrest or prosecutions of serious wrongdoings by their friends during Obama or Biden years?"

Donald Trump has also commented on the release of the files, with his name featuring in more than 3,000 emails of the Justice Department's release last Friday.

“Wolff, who’s a third-rate writer, was conspiring with Jeffrey Epstein to hurt me politically or otherwise and that came through loud and clear,” Trump told reporters Saturday, The Independent reported Sunday. “So we’ll probably sue Wolf on that… maybe the Epstein estate, I guess. I don’t know. But we’ll certainly sue Wolff.”

Despite the newly unearthed allegations, Trump has and is not facing any criminal charges related to his past relationship with Epstein, and has denied any and all wrongdoing.
