Latest ETFs designed to unlock differentiated sources of return for core portfolios

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WisdomTree, Inc. (NYSE: WT), a global financial innovator, today announced the launch of the WisdomTree Efficient TIPS Plus Gold Fund (GDT) and WisdomTree Efficient Long/Short U.S. Equity Fund (WTLS) on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), with expense ratios of 0.30% and 0.88%, respectively. The two new Funds expand WisdomTree’s lineup of capital-efficient strategies and seek to help investors maximize their core portfolios by combining traditional exposures with additional return-seeking strategies in one vehicle.

GDT helps investors manage persistent inflation by pairing U.S. Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) with a targeted gold allocation. TIPS provide direct linkage to realized inflation, while gold has historically responded quickly to shifts in inflation expectations and monetary credibility. Together, they offer a balanced, capital-efficient approach to inflation protection with added diversification during periods of market stress.

WTLS seeks total return by combining U.S. large-cap equity exposure with a dynamic long/short overlay strategy. The Fund pursues U.S. equity outperformance through a multifactor long/short approach applied alongside broad market exposure without reducing an investor’s existing equity allocation. WTLS also helps meet the growing demand for overlay strategies that remain aligned with common market benchmarks while still aiming to enhance return potential. The Fund selects securities investments for both the long/short U.S. equity strategy and the long-only U.S. equity strategy using machine learning models developed by AlphaBeta Investment Indices Ltd, a third-party model provider. WisdomTree is a minority investor in AlphaBeta ETF Ltd, whose parent is AlphaBeta Investment Indices Ltd, the model provider for the Fund.

“Investors today are navigating a market shaped by persistent inflation pressures, higher interest rates, and periods of elevated volatility,” said Chris Gannatti, Global Head of Research at WisdomTree. “With these new fund launches, we are aiming to give investors straightforward methods to strengthen their core portfolios at a time when traditional building blocks alone may not always be enough. Whether investors are looking to better navigate inflation with GDT or seeking an approach that aims to improve equity returns with WTLS, our goal is to create more accessible strategies they can use every day in their portfolios.”

GDT And WTLS: What’s Under the Hood?

GDT:

  • Designed for Inflation Protection Through TIPS: The Fund directs exposure to securities linked to realized inflation.
  • Forward-Looking Gold Exposure: The Fund targets gold allocation that has historically reacted quickly to shifts in inflation expectations and policy risk.
  • A Balanced, Capital-Efficient Structure: The Fund combines two complementary inflation defenses in a single fund.
  • Diversification During Market Stress: The Fund blends assets that have reacted differently across economic cycles.

WTLS:

  • Broad U.S. Equity Exposure: The Fund pursues U.S. equity alpha1 using a multifactor long/short investment strategy in tandem with broad market equity exposure
  • Insights from AlphaBeta Research Tools: The Fund selects investments using machine learning models developed by AlphaBeta and trained on historical data to make predictions about a security’s return and/or risk.
  • Designed to Complement Core Portfolios: The Fund adds a diversifying return source without replacing existing equity exposure.

Efficient Long/Short U.S. Equity Fund

There are risks associated with investing in WTLS, including possible loss of principal. The Fund invests in a basket of equity securities of large capitalization U.S. companies generally weighted by market capitalization. The Fund expects to invest most of its assets in the securities of U.S. companies and is therefore, more likely to be impacted by events or conditions affecting the United States. The Fund invests in derivatives to gain exposure to U.S. equity securities. The return on a derivative instrument may not correlate with the return of its underlying reference asset. The Fund’s use of derivatives will give rise to leverage. Derivatives can be volatile and may be less liquid than other securities. As a result, the value of an investment in the Fund may change quickly and without warning and you may lose money. While the Fund is actively managed, the Fund's investment process is heavily dependent on quantitative models and the models may not perform as intended. Please read the Fund’s prospectus for specific details regarding the Fund’s risk profile.

Efficient TIPS Plus Gold Fund

There are risks associated with investing in GDT including possible loss of principal. The Fund invests in a portfolio composed of Inflation-protected U.S. Treasury Bonds (“TIPS”) and U.S. listed gold futures contracts. The interest and principal payments of TIPS are adjusted for inflation and typically have lower yields than conventional fixed-rate bonds. The Fund’s income from TIPS may decline due to deflation or changes in inflation expectations. The value of gold and commodity-linked derivative instruments such as gold futures contracts typically is based upon the price movements of the physical commodity or an economic variable linked to such price movement. Price movements in gold and gold futures contracts may fluctuate quickly and dramatically, have a historically low correlation with the returns of the stock and bond markets. Derivatives are used by the Fund to gain exposure to inflation swaps and U.S. listed gold future contracts. Derivative investments can be volatile and may be less liquid than other investments. As a result, the value of an investment in the Fund may change quickly and without warning you may lose money. While the Fund is actively managed, the Fund's investment process is heavily dependent on quantitative models and the models may not perform as intended. Please read the Fund’s prospectus for specific details regarding the Fund’s risk profile. Please read the Fund's prospectus for specific details regarding the Fund's risk profile.

Fed’s Hammack Backs Restrictive Policy Over Fed Rate Cuts

Fed’s Hammack Backs Restrictive Policy Over Fed Rate Cuts

The post Fed’s Hammack Backs Restrictive Policy Over Fed Rate Cuts appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Cleveland Federal Reserve President Beth Hammack has advocated for a restrictive monetary policy amid growing concerns of rising inflation . Her comment comes as Fed officials remain divided on whether they should make a Fed rate cut at the October FOMC meeting, a move that would impact the crypto market. Hammack Raises Inflation Concerns Amid Fed Rate Cut Debate Hammack stated that inflation continues to exceed the Fed’s objective and remains a concern across both headline and core categories. Speaking on CNBC, she noted that price growth remains above the Federal Reserve’s 2% objective and is not expected to return to target until the end of 2027 or early 2028. The Fed president added that pressures are most apparent in the services sector, where inflation has proven more persistent. Notably, her comments follow the first Fed rate cut of the year, two weeks ago at the September FOMC meeting.  In her remarks, Hammack said monetary policy must remain restrictive to ensure progress toward the inflation target, indicating that she doesn’t favor further Fed rate cuts for now. She explained that the Federal Reserve’s dual mandate requires balancing price stability with employment, but argued that inflation remains the greater challenge at present. “When I balance those two sides of our mandate, I think we really need to maintain a restrictive stance of policy so that we can get inflation back down to our goal,” she said. Inflation Over the Jobs Market Hammack pointed to service-related spending as an area where inflationary pressures remain strong. She explained that both headline and main price levels are still above target, with little evidence of near-term relief. She described the U.S. labor market as “reasonably healthy” and overall balanced, noting that current conditions do not show major weaknesses. However, Hammack stressed that maintaining this balance…
