For a long time, Solana has shaped most discussions around high-speed blockchains, often highlighting its ability to process transactions at extreme rates. This focus on raw performance helped Solana reach strong adoption and visibility, but it also pushed the network away from Ethereum standards that many developers already rely on.

As demand for scalable networks continues to grow, builders and market participants are now questioning whether speed alone can support long-term growth. This change in thinking has created space for BlockDAG (BDAG), a Layer-1 network designed to deliver strong throughput while remaining fully compatible with Ethereum tools. Rather than copying Solana’s approach, BlockDAG presents a different path for scaling inside the Ethereum ecosystem.

Solana’s High Speed Comes With Clear Trade-Offs

Solana is widely known for its high transaction capacity, often citing a theoretical limit of up to 65,000 transactions per second under ideal conditions. The network was built from the ground up to favor fast confirmation times and low costs, using its Proof of History model to order transactions efficiently. This design helped Solana attract large-scale applications, especially in areas like NFTs and high-frequency platforms.

Despite these strengths, Solana’s design choices introduce several limitations. Its system differs sharply from Ethereum, requiring developers to learn new tools and work primarily with Rust instead of Solidity. For many Ethereum-focused teams, this creates a steep barrier, making it harder to move existing projects or skills over to Solana.

In addition, the network has experienced multiple outages and recurring concerns around stability and central control. While Solana’s speed is impressive, these issues have raised doubts about its reliability over time. The result is a network that moves fast but often feels isolated from the wider Ethereum-based environment.

BlockDAG Combines Speed With Ethereum-Friendly Design

BlockDAG takes a more balanced approach by delivering performance without leaving Ethereum behind. With processing capacity reaching around 1,400 transactions per second, BlockDAG may not chase extreme headline numbers, but it provides more than enough speed for scalable applications while staying fully EVM-compatible. Developers can continue using Solidity along with familiar tools such as MetaMask, Hardhat, and Remix.

This focus on compatibility is a key reason BlockDAG is gaining attention as a top crypto to buy. Instead of forcing teams to rebuild from scratch, the network allows Ethereum-based projects to move or expand with minimal friction. The structure supports fast onboarding, smoother deployment, and easier scaling for applications already built within the Ethereum framework.

BlockDAG’s presale progress reflects this growing interest. The project has raised over $443 million so far, with around 3.1 billion coins still available. It is currently in presale batch 35, offering a special price of $0.003 per coin. The presale is set to end on January 26, and once this stage closes, the current price will not return.

Speed or Compatibility: What Really Drives Adoption?

At a surface level, Solana’s raw throughput appears to offer a clear advantage. However, in real-world use, very few applications need tens of thousands of transactions per second. Most projects are limited by development resources, tooling support, and integration options rather than pure speed.

Solana’s departure from Ethereum standards continues to slow adoption among Solidity developers. Moving to Solana often means relearning workflows and rebuilding tools that already work well on Ethereum. This added effort can delay launches and increase long-term costs.

BlockDAG, by contrast, offers a fast environment that still respects existing Ethereum practices. Running decentralized applications at 1,400 TPS without rewriting core code is a strong advantage for teams that want growth without disruption. This balance also appeals to larger organizations that value consistency and stability over extreme performance claims.

Solana’s history of outages has further highlighted these concerns. BlockDAG benefits from a DAG-based structure that supports steady throughput while reducing downtime risks, making it more suitable for long-term use.

Wrapping Up!

Solana has always pushed speed above all else, even if that meant creating its own rules and developer paths. While this worked for certain use cases, it left many builders behind. BlockDAG offers a different solution by keeping performance high without sacrificing accessibility.

With 1,400 TPS and full EVM compatibility, BlockDAG removes the need to choose between speed and ease of use. Developers can scale applications quickly while staying inside the Ethereum environment they already understand. This practical design has helped position BlockDAG as a top crypto to buy ahead of its presale close.

At the current presale price of $0.003, the potential upside is clear. When BlockDAG reaches its planned price of $0.05, that represents a 16.67× difference, equal to a +1,566% increase. The final days of the presale are now here, and once January 26 passes, this price level will be gone for good. No resets, no extensions, and no second chances.

For those who missed earlier stages, this remains a narrow window. With strong funding, clear technical direction, and a presale ending soon, BlockDAG continues to gain traction as the Ethereum-compatible option Solana never aimed to deliver. For builders and market participants seeking scalable performance without leaving the EVM space, BlockDAG fits that need.

Metaplanet (3350), the largest bitcoin BTC$116,183.54 treasury company in Japan, said it established two subsidiaries — one in Japan and one in the U.S. — and bought the bitcoin.jp domain name as it strengthens its commitment to the largest cryptocurrency. Bitcoin Japan Inc., will be based in Tokyo and manage a suite of bitcoin-linked media, conferences and online platforms, including the internet domain and Bitcoin Magazine Japan. The U.S. unit, Metaplanet Income Corp., will be based in Miami and focus on generating income from bitcoin-related financial products, including derivatives, the company said in a post on X. Metaplanet noted it launched a bitcoin income generation business in the last quarter of 2024 and aims to further scale these operations through the new subsidiary. Both the wholly owned subsidiaries are led in part by Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich. Earlier this month, the firm brought its bitcoin holdings to over 20,000 BTC. It’s currently the world’s sixth-largest bitcoin treasury company, with 20,136 BTC in its balance sheet, according to BitcoinTreasuries data. The leading firm, Strategy (MSTR), has 638,985 BTC. The subsidiaries are being established shortly after the company announced plans to raise a net 204.1 billion yen ($1.4 billion) in an international share sale to bolster its BTC holdings.
