PETALING JAYA: Kedah police have recorded statements from seven people in its probe into a grenade blast that killed two soldiers at the Hobart Camp in Gurun earlier today.
Kedah deputy police chief Baderulhisham Baharudin said they will continue recording statements from other witnesses tomorrow, Bernama reported.
“This includes those involved in the (grenade-throwing) training and those at the scene, including supervisors,” he was quoted as saying.
A corporal, Norazmi Abu Bakar, and a private, Siti Khadijah Sungip, succumbed to serious injuries after a grenade exploded during the exercise at 10.57am.
Their bodies were sent from the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital in Sungai Petani to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar for a post-mortem.
Baderulhisham expressed hope that the post-mortem would be completed tonight.
He also said the case was currently classified as sudden death as police have found no elements of foul play.
