Sumsub, a global verification and anti-fraud leader, announced it is now a member of the Merchant Risk Council (MRC), a leading global non-profit association for payments, fraud prevention, and risk professionals.

Sumsub’s membership in the MRC reinforces its commitment to helping e-commerce and marketplace businesses combat fraud, reduce risk, and build trusted user ecosystems. It strengthens Sumsub’s position in the global e-commerce, marketplace, and digital platform ecosystem, where fraud prevention, user trust, identity verification, payment risk, and user safety are becoming increasingly interconnected.

As AI-driven fraud, account takeovers, synthetic identities, and payment abuse continue to evolve, businesses are increasingly seeking integrated approaches that combine identity, fraud prevention, and risk management. Through MRC’s global network of payments and fraud professionals, Sumsub will contribute its expertise while gaining deeper insight into the challenges merchants and marketplaces face today.

“As fraud becomes more sophisticated, businesses need to think beyond compliance and focus on protecting trust throughout the customer lifecycle,” said Andrew Novoselsky, Chief Product Officer at Sumsub. “Joining MRC allows us to collaborate more closely with merchants, marketplaces, and risk leaders around the world to better understand emerging threats, share best practices, and help build safer digital experiences.”

Through the MRC community, Sumsub will exchange insights with fraud, payments, and risk professionals tackling challenges such as fake accounts, stolen identities, seller fraud, promo abuse, chargebacks, mule accounts, and payment-related risks. The membership also supports Sumsub’s efforts to deepen its expertise in e-commerce and marketplace fraud prevention while expanding its role in the broader digital trust ecosystem.
