Fleetwood Mac never seems to have an issue appearing on the charts in either the United States or the United Kingdom. Each week, at least one album, if not several titles, takes up space, occasionally on multiple rosters, and usually they are joined by a handful of singles that have stood the test of time. Which project is favored by listeners and shoppers differs from frame to frame, and where exactly they land shifts all the time.
Like many legacy acts, Fleetwood Mac doesn’t often debut a new release, as the band has not recorded material in years. Fleetwood Mac does score another win on a pair of charts in the U.K., as the outfit’s Record Store Day offering The Original Fleetwood Mac becomes a quick bestseller.
Fleetwood Mac’s The Original Fleetwood Mac Debuts
The Original Fleetwood Mac is a compilation that the group originally released in May 1971. The music featured on the project includes songs that the four members that comprised the band from 1967 to 1968 – Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood – recorded together, as the cover of the full-length explains.

According to Rough Trade, the Record Store Day exclusive version of the more than half-century-old release has been remastered, and seven bonus tracks have been added to its track list – ones which have never been available on vinyl before.
The Original Fleetwood Mac Opens at No. 71
The Original Fleetwood Mac launches at No. 71 on both the Official Albums Sales and the Official Physical Albums charts. The first of those two ranks the top-selling titles regardless of genre, length, or format, and purchases on CD, cassette, vinyl, and via digital download stores are all eligible to be counted. The Official Physical Albums register completely excludes downloads and instead focuses entirely on the three other aforementioned formats.
Fleetwood Mac Claims Dozens of Hits on One Sales Chart
Between the two rankings where The Original Fleetwood Mac arrives, the Grammy-winning act has scored more hits on the Official Physical Albums chart. Fleetwood Mac is now up to 31 charters, eight more when compared to the Official Albums Sales tally.
1975–1987 Marked the Band’s Previous Most Recent Debut
It’s been just over a year since Fleetwood Mac last debuted any piece of music on either roster where The Original Fleetwood Mac arrives this frame. In April 2025, a box set titled simply 1975–1987 debuted, and it only spent one turn on the two rundowns. 1975–1987, which includes the five albums the group released during that time frame, Fleetwood Mac, Rumours, Tusk, Mirage, and Tango in the Night, entered at No. 81 on the physical tally and at No. 87 on the sales list.
Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours Continues as a Top Performer
As The Original Fleetwood Mac debuts, the group doubles its current placements on both rankings, and even though the newer of the efforts is the more exciting, it is not the higher-rising. Rumours, one of the bestselling releases of all time, beats the compilation, coming in at No. 51 on the Official Albums Sales chart and No. 55 on the Official Physical Albums roster. Just last period, Rumours sat at No. 21 on the two lists, and it may surge again in a few days when purchases of The Original Fleetwood Mac likely drop off.
Unlike the compilation, however, Rumours also manages to appear on three additional tallies: the Official Albums (No. 24), Official Albums Streaming (No. 24), and Official Album Downloads charts (No. 35).
