Lipreader catches Trump and King Charles in candid talk: 'I feel I shouldn't be here'

King Charles’ visit to the White House to meet with Donald Trump, followed by an outdoor ceremony on Tuesday, led the New York Post to employ a lip-reader to decipher what the two world leaders were saying to each other out of earshot of reporters.

Upon welcoming his guests to the White House, the Post is reporting that Trump and Charles spoke about security, likely related to the attempt on Trump’s life Saturday night at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner among other topics.

Lip reader Nicola Hickling told the Post, Trump said something about “the shooting” to which Charles replied, ”I’d rather not stand about here too long,” possibly as a joke, and adding, “I feel I shouldn’t be here.”

“I wasn’t prepared, but now I am prepared. So right now, I am talking to Putin,” the president rerportedly told the king, at which point Hickling claimed the British royal appeared to “try to shut the matter down,” by stating “We will discuss that later.”

Trump then warned, “I’ve got a feeling … if he did what he said, he will wipe out the population.”

Charles then remarked, “Another time,” according to Hickling.

Walking with the king, Trump pointed out, “You can see right through there. Right the way through to the ballroom. Would you like to see?"

And then, “I’m sure you’ll show us,” Charles replied to which Trump admitted, “That’s right, you’re right.”
